China Factory Pickup for Export Freight: A Buyer’s Checklist
A factory pickup is easier to coordinate when the forwarder has a complete collection brief and the supplier knows what will happen on pickup day. A vague request such as “pick up my order in China” can lead to missed appointments, waiting time or cargo that is not ready for loading.
Share the exact pickup location
Provide the supplier’s full address in Chinese and English if available, a map pin, onsite contact name and phone number, operating hours and any gate or booking instructions. If the cargo is collected from more than one supplier, list each location and confirm whether the goods will move separately or be consolidated.
Confirm readiness and handling
State the date and time the cargo will be fully packed and available. Tell the supplier whether a truck needs a loading dock, forklift, pallet jack, special vehicle, security registration or advance appointment. Confirm who loads and secures the cargo, and who pays waiting or failed-pickup charges if the goods are not ready.
Send final cargo details
Provide package count, outer dimensions, gross weight, stackability, cargo description and photos. Disclose batteries, liquids, aerosols, perfume, magnets, chemicals or other characteristics that may need a carrier review. Do not let a pickup proceed under an inaccurate “general cargo” description.
Align documents and handover
Confirm the commercial invoice and packing list match the actual shipment and agree who provides export documents under the sales contract. Ask the pickup driver or warehouse to record the number of pieces collected and report visible damage or count differences before the truck departs.
Request pickup coordination
Send the pickup city, supplier contact, package data, destination, target delivery date and agreed Incoterm through the [ANELGO inquiry form](../index.html#quote). Confirm the pickup scope and booking reference in writing before the supplier releases the cargo.
