Split Shipments from China: Keep Invoice, Packing List and Entry Data Aligned
How should buyers document one purchase order shipped in separate lots?
Start with the exact product and shipment
A purchase order can ship in multiple lots, but each lot needs accurate piece, value, description and transport references. The entry documents should match what is actually in that shipment.
Make the handoff actionable
Create a lot-level packing list and invoice support, identify which SKUs and quantities travel in each lot, retain the master PO cross-reference, and coordinate entry strategy with the broker before the first lot departs.
Confirm the boundary before cargo moves
Do not divide value or alter descriptions solely to change the entry treatment. The importer and broker must determine lawful entry reporting for each shipment.
Prepare a quote request
Include the product name and model, supplier city and pickup address, destination ZIP code, cargo-ready date, total pieces, packed dimensions and gross weight. State whether freight is palletized, stackable, temperature-sensitive or subject to special handling. For regulated or restricted goods, attach the current product documents and request written carrier review before delivery to the warehouse. Review the [relevant ANELGO service page](/services/battery-electronics-shipping.html) and send the details through the [shipment inquiry form](../index.html#quote).
