What Does “Cargo Ready Date” Mean? Align Factory Readiness with Booking
When should a buyer call an order cargo-ready?
Start with the exact product and shipment
A realistic cargo-ready date means goods are packed, counted, measured, documented to the agreed stage and available for pickup—not merely finished on the production line.
Make the handoff actionable
Confirm final carton count and dimensions, packing list status, export packing, pickup address/contact, loading hours and any inspection hold. Tell the forwarder immediately if the date shifts so booking and cutoffs can be adjusted.
Confirm the boundary before cargo moves
A speculative ready date can cause rolled bookings, idle truck attempts or avoidable amendment work. Use a date owner at the factory and report changes promptly.
Prepare a quote request
Include the product name and model, supplier city and pickup address, destination ZIP code, cargo-ready date, total pieces, packed dimensions and gross weight. State whether freight is palletized, stackable, temperature-sensitive or subject to special handling. For regulated or restricted goods, attach the current product documents and request written carrier review before delivery to the warehouse. Review the [relevant ANELGO service page](/services/yiwu-shenzhen-sourcing.html) and send the details through the [shipment inquiry form](../index.html#quote).
