Battery Shipping Documents Do Not Match the Product: How to Fix Before Pickup
What should an exporter do when the SDS or test summary lists a different model?
Start with the exact product and shipment
Document mismatch can stop a booking because the carrier cannot verify that the declared cargo matches the physical battery. Resolve model, capacity and configuration differences before tender.
Make the handoff actionable
Compare product labels, SDS, test summary, packing list and photographs; ask the manufacturer to issue corrected documents or explain model equivalence; have the dangerous-goods reviewer confirm acceptance before pickup is scheduled.
Confirm the boundary before cargo moves
Never edit a safety document yourself or ship while hoping the discrepancy will be ignored. Document approval must come from the responsible manufacturer and carrier process.
Prepare a quote request
Include the product name and model, supplier city and pickup address, destination ZIP code, cargo-ready date, total pieces, packed dimensions and gross weight. State whether freight is palletized, stackable, temperature-sensitive or subject to special handling. For regulated or restricted goods, attach the current product documents and request written carrier review before delivery to the warehouse. Review the [relevant ANELGO service page](/services/battery-electronics-shipping.html) and send the details through the [shipment inquiry form](../index.html#quote).
