GCC for General-Use Products: What China Suppliers and US Importers Should Align
How do a supplier and importer align a General Certificate of Conformity?
Start with the exact product and shipment
A GCC is tied to applicable rules and product identification, and the importer must coordinate certification and electronic filing for covered imported products. The certificate is not a general quality badge.
Make the handoff actionable
Match the covered rule, product/model, manufacturer details, testing basis and certificate data. Ask who will create and transmit the certificate data, then align SKU descriptions across the supplier documents and customs entry.
Confirm the boundary before cargo moves
Never copy a certificate from a visually similar item without verifying scope. For regulated products, have the responsible compliance team confirm current CPSC requirements.
Prepare a quote request
Include the product name and model, supplier city and pickup address, destination ZIP code, cargo-ready date, total pieces, packed dimensions and gross weight. State whether freight is palletized, stackable, temperature-sensitive or subject to special handling. For regulated or restricted goods, attach the current product documents and request written carrier review before delivery to the warehouse. Review the [relevant ANELGO service page](/services/battery-electronics-shipping.html) and send the details through the [shipment inquiry form](../index.html#quote).
