Shipping Fragile Home Decor from China: Packaging and Damage-Prevention Plan
What should be agreed before ceramic, glass or decorative goods are loaded?
Start with the exact product and shipment
Fragile products can travel safely only when the inner pack, master carton and container arrangement work as a system. A freight booking cannot fix weak factory packaging after the cargo is sealed.
Make the handoff actionable
Request photos of inner protection, carton drop/stack test basis where available, pallet pattern and void fill. Identify non-stackable cartons and point-load risks; confirm whether the receiver can unload the chosen handling unit.
Confirm the boundary before cargo moves
“Handle with care” marks do not replace adequate packaging or guarantee special treatment. Agree claims evidence and packaging responsibilities in the purchase/insurance terms.
Prepare a quote request
Include the product name and model, supplier city and pickup address, destination ZIP code, cargo-ready date, total pieces, packed dimensions and gross weight. State whether freight is palletized, stackable, temperature-sensitive or subject to special handling. For regulated or restricted goods, attach the current product documents and request written carrier review before delivery to the warehouse. Review the [relevant ANELGO service page](/) and send the details through the [shipment inquiry form](../index.html#quote).
