Non-Stackable Pallets: How to Explain the Space Requirement in a Freight Quote
Why does a non-stackable pallet affect pricing and how should it be declared?
Start with the exact product and shipment
A pallet that cannot bear weight above it occupies more usable space than its physical footprint suggests. Incorrect stackability information can cause re-rating or load-plan changes.
Make the handoff actionable
Mark each pallet as stackable or non-stackable, state the reason and maximum top load if known, separate mixed pallet types, and send loading photos. Ask the quote provider to confirm how the declared footprint will be rated.
Confirm the boundary before cargo moves
Do not label cargo stackable if the product or packaging cannot safely bear the load. Safety and stability should be supported by packaging design, not a price preference.
Prepare a quote request
Include the product name and model, supplier city and pickup address, destination ZIP code, cargo-ready date, total pieces, packed dimensions and gross weight. State whether freight is palletized, stackable, temperature-sensitive or subject to special handling. For regulated or restricted goods, attach the current product documents and request written carrier review before delivery to the warehouse. Review the [relevant ANELGO service page](/services/battery-electronics-shipping.html) and send the details through the [shipment inquiry form](../index.html#quote).
