Should You Ship a Partial Order from China? A Cost and Stockout Decision Guide
When is it worth shipping available cartons before the full order is ready?
Start with the exact product and shipment
A partial shipment can protect launch dates or production uptime but may add origin handling, documentation, delivery and inventory-control work. Decide using the cost of delay, not urgency alone.
Make the handoff actionable
List available and delayed SKUs, identify the quantity that prevents a stockout, compare the partial shipment’s all-in transport cost with the impact of waiting, and confirm separate receiving and customs plans.
Confirm the boundary before cargo moves
Do not split cargo without checking the purchase contract, export documentation and broker plan. Freight charges can rise disproportionately for a small partial lot.
Prepare a quote request
Include the product name and model, supplier city and pickup address, destination ZIP code, cargo-ready date, total pieces, packed dimensions and gross weight. State whether freight is palletized, stackable, temperature-sensitive or subject to special handling. For regulated or restricted goods, attach the current product documents and request written carrier review before delivery to the warehouse. Review the [relevant ANELGO service page](/services/battery-electronics-shipping.html) and send the details through the [shipment inquiry form](../index.html#quote).
