Lacey Act Import Declarations for Wood Products: Supplier Data Checklist
What supplier data is needed to assess a Lacey declaration?
Start with the exact product and shipment
Declaration applicability depends on product classification and the current APHIS implementation schedule; material-level detail may be needed when products combine wood, paper or composite boards.
Make the handoff actionable
Create a SKU-to-material list, request scientific and common names when available, record harvest country data supplied by the manufacturer, and give the full dataset to the importer/broker early. Maintain traceable versions for repeat orders.
Confirm the boundary before cargo moves
Do not guess species or origin based on a product’s selling name. If the supplier cannot provide adequate data, resolve that gap before confirming shipment readiness.
Prepare a quote request
Include the product name and model, supplier city and pickup address, destination ZIP code, cargo-ready date, total pieces, packed dimensions and gross weight. State whether freight is palletized, stackable, temperature-sensitive or subject to special handling. For regulated or restricted goods, attach the current product documents and request written carrier review before delivery to the warehouse. Review the [relevant ANELGO service page](/) and send the details through the [shipment inquiry form](../index.html#quote).
