Shipping from China to Amazon FBA in the USA: Freight Readiness Checklist

Shipping inventory from China to an Amazon fulfillment center combines international freight with Amazon’s current inbound shipment rules. The seller creates the shipment plan and labels in Seller Central; the carrier must receive the shipment identifiers and follow the applicable appointment and delivery process. Check the current requirements for the specific fulfillment center and shipment method before dispatch.

Create and verify the inbound plan

Confirm the destination fulfillment center, shipment ID, SKU and carton or pallet counts in Seller Central. The supplier’s packing list must match the final packed units and box configuration. Changes after labels are created can make shipment records inaccurate, so reconcile the final count before pickup.

Apply the correct labels

Amazon’s current guidance describes unique box labels and, for palletized shipments, pallet labels as applicable to the selected workflow. Print labels from the seller account, keep barcodes readable and place them where they will not be hidden by straps, tape or wrap. Requirements can differ by shipping program and may change; use Seller Central’s current instructions rather than a saved label from an old shipment.

Coordinate the appointment and transport leg

For truckload or palletized deliveries, confirm who requests the dock appointment and when the shipment data is final. Share the shipment IDs, carrier details, pallet count, dimensions, weights and bill of lading with the responsible carrier. Do not promise an appointment or receiving date until it is confirmed in the applicable Amazon system.

Separate freight from seller compliance

International freight coordination does not replace the seller’s responsibility for product compliance, FBA preparation, customs entry, duty payment or accurate shipment creation. Battery, liquid, aerosol, cosmetic and other regulated cargo may require additional review before a carrier accepts it.
