Limited-Access Delivery from a US Port: Identify Site Restrictions Before Quoting
What counts as limited access for an import delivery quote?
Start with the exact product and shipment
Some destinations lack a normal commercial dock or have restricted hours, security, narrow access or special appointment procedures. These details affect equipment and service availability.
Make the handoff actionable
Describe the facility type and street access, security/check-in process, delivery hours, appointment rules, unloading equipment and contact. Send photos or a map pin when the location is unusual and ask the carrier to confirm feasibility.
Confirm the boundary before cargo moves
Do not label an unknown destination “commercial dock.” Misstated access can trigger failed delivery, waiting or re-delivery charges.
Prepare a quote request
Include the product name and model, supplier city and pickup address, destination ZIP code, cargo-ready date, total pieces, packed dimensions and gross weight. State whether freight is palletized, stackable, temperature-sensitive or subject to special handling. For regulated or restricted goods, attach the current product documents and request written carrier review before delivery to the warehouse. Review the [relevant ANELGO service page](/services/battery-electronics-shipping.html) and send the details through the [shipment inquiry form](../index.html#quote).
