Warehouse Delivery Appointments for Imports: Data to Confirm Before Dispatch
What details does a US warehouse need before accepting imported freight?
Start with the exact product and shipment
A delivery can fail if the shipment reference, pallet count, vehicle, appointment or receiving hours do not match warehouse rules. Verify the appointment before a driver is dispatched.
Make the handoff actionable
Confirm dock address, appointment ID and time, receiving contact, PO/ASN, pallet and carton count, vehicle restrictions, unloading method, hours and check-in rules. Give the driver clear instructions and a contact for exceptions.
Confirm the boundary before cargo moves
Do not assume a standard receiving window or that a port appointment is also a warehouse appointment. Confirm each facility separately.
Prepare a quote request
Include the product name and model, supplier city and pickup address, destination ZIP code, cargo-ready date, total pieces, packed dimensions and gross weight. State whether freight is palletized, stackable, temperature-sensitive or subject to special handling. For regulated or restricted goods, attach the current product documents and request written carrier review before delivery to the warehouse. Review the [relevant ANELGO service page](/services/battery-electronics-shipping.html) and send the details through the [shipment inquiry form](../index.html#quote).
